Take Your Workout To The Track

My 19 year old daughter recently moved to Tennessee where she rents a house and works as a patient care technician at a hospital. She's getting "on the job training" of the financial responsibilities of living on her own. A gym membership is not in her budget right now, but she wants to stay fit. Shelby is tall and slim, and she played volleyball and basketball most of her childhood and high school years. I came up with this workout for her and thought I would share it with you here.

Take advantage of the quiet season at your local high school and hit the track for this fast-paced, fun full-body training session. This workout doesn't require any equipment (except a jump rope if you have one). Move at your own pace, but push yourself past your comfort zone. Your body will dip into your carbohydrate and fat stores for the energy it needs, and you'll get an invigorating dose of fresh air and sunshine.

Have fun, and let me know what you think after you try it.
